Major-General Joseph Kasaine Ole Nkaissery was a Kenyan politician and retired military officer who represented Kajiado Central Constituency in the National Assembly, first elected on a KANU ticket in the 9th Parliament and later re-elected as a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in the 11th Parliament. He served as Member of Parliament from 2002 until 2014, when he resigned his seat to take up appointment as Cabinet Secretary for Internal Security and Coordination of National Government. Beyond politics, he was recognized as a senior elder of the Maasai community. Nkaissery died suddenly on 8 July 2017 while still serving as Cabinet Secretary, closing out a career that spanned both the military and national politics.
