Kalonzo Musyoka is Kenya's patient man of diplomacy, a former Vice President and long-serving foreign minister whose Wiper machine has made him the perennial bridge-builder of opposition politics. A lawyer who entered parliament at 32 through a Kitui North by-election, he chaired regional peace talks on Somalia and Sudan and earned the mediator's reputation he has traded on ever since. He broke with Kibaki over the 2005 referendum, co-founded the Orange movement, then served as Vice President through the grand-coalition years. Several times a presidential-ticket principal or deputy, he now leads the Wiper Patriotic Front into 2027 arguing that his steadiness is the antidote to Kenya's turbulence.
Vice President of Kenya
Government of Kenya 2007-2012

Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources
Government of Kenya 2003-2004
Ran the environment and natural resources ministry in the Kibaki government, a short tenure that ended when he broke with the administration over the 2005 constitutional referendum and joined the Orange rebellion.
Minister for Foreign Affairs (second tenure)
Government of Kenya 2002-2003
Returned to the foreign affairs docket in President Kibaki's first cabinet, representing the new NARC government abroad during the optimism of the post-KANU transition before moving to the environment ministry.

Government of Kenya 1992-1997
Kenya's top diplomat under President Moi, chairing regional peace initiatives on Somalia and Sudan and building the mediator's reputation that has anchored his public image through every campaign since.
