Checking your registration status

Do not assume you are registered because you registered once years ago. Registers are cleaned up, and details can be wrong. Check early so there is time to fix problems.

You can verify by SMS: send your national ID number to the IEBC short code (70000 in past elections; confirm the current code on iebc.or.ke). The reply shows your registration details and polling station.

You can also verify online through the IEBC voter verification portal, or in person at your constituency's IEBC office.

If your details are wrong, or you want to transfer to a different polling station, visit the constituency IEBC office before the register inspection window closes. Transfers are not possible in the final months before the election.
