Registration
How to register as a voter
You qualify to register if you are a Kenyan citizen, are 18 years or older, and hold a national ID card or a valid Kenyan passport.
Registration is done in person at your constituency's IEBC office or at any gazetted registration centre during a registration drive. The clerk captures your details and fingerprints using a BVR (Biometric Voter Registration) kit.
You choose the polling centre where you will vote. Pick one close to where you actually live: that is where you must show up on election day.
Registration is free. Nobody may charge you, and nobody may register on your behalf.
After registering you receive an acknowledgement slip. Keep it, but note that the slip is not required to vote; your ID or passport is what you present on election day.
