Peter Ochieng Orero, also known by his birth name Peter Ochieng Odoyo, is a Kenyan politician and economist whose career bridges two very different parliamentary eras. He was first elected to represent Nyakach constituency in the National Assembly in 1997, serving until 2007 under the National Rainbow Coalition banner, during which time he was Vice Chair of the Finance, Trade and Planning Committee. Between 2001 and 2005 he held the positions of Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Assistant Minister for Labour, and Assistant Minister for Regional Development. He also spent years as Kenya and East Africa's coordinator for the World e-Parliament initiative. Decades later he returned to the National Assembly representing Kibra constituency on the Orange Democratic Movement ticket in the 13th Parliament, where he sits on the Education and National Cohesion and Equal Opportunity committees.
